A Review On How To Know Inexpensive Search Engine That Works

By Michael Braxton

Inexpensive search engine optimization steps can be taken if you want to do some of the work yourself. It will only take a little time and effort to learn what need to be done. (SEO) is all about increasing the volume of people to your website or blog.

The idea here is to have your website or blog listed earlier or higher in the list of results using search engines like Yahoo or Google. The earlier in the list a site appears the more hits it will get and is usually part of an internet marketing strategy.

You can do this yourself with a few simple steps and rules to follow. The majority of the work is done through editing content of your site and HTML using key search words. This is something that is built in to your website through design or redesign. It is called organic search.

The title of your homepage should have your business name and three other main focus areas. Then each page you have should have its own individual title that will tell users what they can find on that page. This information is placed in the head of the HTML document. The titles should not be long.

Meta tags will help to put your site up on the list as well. Meta tags are descriptions or summaries of each page. You can place key search words here. The tags can be as short as one sentence and long as a short paragraph. This done in the head tag of your HTML document.

Another tool to help you is your URL. If you make your URL friendly and easy to remember, people are more likely to enter its address and link you to another related site. It should be easy to remember yet descriptive.

Search results can also be pulled from a site map. Your website should have a site map that is clearly ordered and up to date. This is where a user can go to see the content and structure of your site and you can place key words.

Another inexpensive way to optimize your site is to blog about it. Go on related sites and blog about it and add links to your own site. You can even blog about it on your own site using key search words. This also works well with social media sites.

Something which you are probably already doing is to put your URL on your business correspondence. Things like business cards, letterhead, emails and newsletters. This makes your URL readily available and memorable.

If you go on sites like Google, you can list your business in their local business center. This means when person is searching for a business in your area, your URL will come up and show in the search.

If you do not want to do the work yourself, you can hire a webmaster or web designer to do the work for you. The cost starts out at two hundred dollars and goes up. Remember, if you do it yourself or hire someone else, there is no guarantee you will be at the top of the list.
