Writing Effective Ad Copy for PPC

By Michel Hillis

Precision is the key to writing effective ad copy for your PPC campaign. If you can get the basics right, then you'll set up the foundation for long term success with your campaign. Keep reading to learn some tips for how to craft good PPC ad copy.

A/B Testing - This is probably the most important thing to remember when running a PPC campaign. You can't just write one ad copy and depend on it to give you profits; testing is vital for your success. The fact is, you simply won't know what's working and what's not without testing out different ad copies against each other. To properly test an ad, you should try changing only one element of your ad, like the title, as well as variations on the whole ad. Because even small changes can have a big impact on your overall results, the little things matter. One example is when testing an ad copy with capitalization, also do a version without it. Don't underestimate the importance of testing because that's what sets apart the successful PPC ads from all the rest.

You will get better results when you format your ad title in a certain manner.

Writing your ad copy is largely about your own knowledge and research, apart from the creative part of course. Before you start on your copy, make sure you know your competition well and check out their ads to see how they've crafted their copy.

There are different strategies you can use with your PPC ad copy. Of course if you are providing some kind of solution, then that can work very well with any kind of advertising. What questions you can ask need to be figured out by you because only you know. Chances are not everyone else will be doing this although some will as it is known.

Actually, writing great PPC ad copy is not hard, but in the beginning it is because you have no idea; so get some knowledge about it and then some experience.
